Put farms, sawmills and houses on your land — farms love water, sawmills love trees, and nothing grows in winter. Sixteen seasons, then we count who lives here.
Tap a building to pick it up and the board tells you what it would be worth on every square. Tap a square to put it down. Undo takes back anything you placed this season; there is no knocking things down later.
A farm or a sawmill needs somebody to run it, so you can only build one if a villager is free. A house doesn't — you live in it. People turn up at houses with spare rooms as long as there is food in the barn, and the bigger your village the more come at once, so a house built early is worth far more than the same house built at the end.
Everyone eats one food a season. Run short and that many villagers pack up and walk off the edge. Wood and food both keep from one season to the next, and stockpiling is the whole answer to a winter.
The four blue marks on the strip are the winters, and they are there from the start so you can see them coming. Tap while a season is playing out to skip through it.
