🥏 Disc Duel

~ THROW IT OFF THE WALL ~

BEST ON NORMAL

Throw a glowing disc off the walls at the rival across the void, and knock the floor out from under them before they do it to you.

    How to play ▾

This is our take on Discs of Tron, the 1983 arcade game that came out of the first Tron film: two players on round platforms across a gap, throwing discs that bounce off the walls.

Your floor is your health. You stand on one of three pads, and each pad has three rings. A disc that hits you takes a ring off the pad you are standing on. Lose the last ring under your feet and you fall, and the round is over. First to two rounds wins the match.

Tap a pad to hop to it — only your own three, and only ones with rings left. You can be hit in the air, and that counts against the pad you are hopping to.

Swipe to throw. The disc goes the way you swiped, at one speed, and bounces off the walls. Hold and drag instead and an aiming line shows where it will go, first bounce and all. Let go to throw. The disc flies until it has bounced twice or left the far end, then comes back to your hand, and you cannot throw until it is back. On a laptop, click and drag does the same.

Two discs that meet in the air shatter each other. That is the only block there is. The rival hops away from what it sees coming, so throw at the wall and let the disc arrive from the side.

Points, against the robot: 100 for every round you win, plus 10 for every ring still under you when you win it, and 100 more for the match. The best go on the board for that difficulty.

2 players is one phone flat on the table, one of you at each end, each with your own half of the screen. Easy, normal and hard only change how fast the disc flies. No board.
