🍳 Two Cooks

One of you takes the cook on the left, the other takes the cook on the right. You win together and you lose together — nobody beats anybody here.

Your stick is on your own side of the screen — on a phone, turn it sideways so there is room for all four thumbs. The 🤲 button uses whatever is right in front of you, and there is always a ring drawn on it so you can see what that is. A bright ring in your colour means the button will do something; a dashed grey ring means it won't, and it will tell you why.

LEFT COOK. The fridge has two doors. The top one hands you the ingredient for the order closest to giving up, the bottom one the next after that — the tickets up on the rail wear the same lines, solid and dashed, so you can see which is which. At the chopping board, hold the button down until the ring fills up. Let go and it drains back, so don't wander off halfway.

RIGHT COOK. Drop things in the pan and take them out again. The ring round the hob goes green, then gold when it's ready, then red — leave it too long and it's burnt, and burnt food can only be walked to a bin. Leave a burnt pan sitting there and the hob catches fire. Finished dishes go out through the hatch with the bell.

Reading the food: one whole picture is still raw · three little bits means chopped · little steam wisps mean cooked · a black lump means burnt.

You can put anything down anywhere — in a counter slot for the other cook, or just on the floor. It comes back up exactly as you left it.

Tickets appear along the top with a patience bar each. Serve one while its bar is still mostly full and you get a tip on top. Three people walking out ends the shift, and so does the three-minute clock. The score board is a team board — you both tap your name, and both go on the board together.
