something is hunting you

On a laptop: arrow keys or WASD to turn and drive ยท Space to fire
You are in a tank on a dark plain, and something is hunting you. Find it on the radar, turn to face it, and fire before it does.
Push the stick sideways to turn, and up or down to drive forwards or backwards. Both at once drives you in a curve.
You have one shell at a time. Until it lands or flies out of range, FIRE does nothing โ the button goes dim.
The radar is the round screen. You are the mark in the middle, the top is the way you are facing, and the orange blip is the enemy. A blip between the two lines is one you can see out of the front.
The sight grabs. When it sweeps onto a tank it snaps shut round it with a click and holds on for half a second. That is when you fire.
Watch the mark over the tank โ it is its gun. Hollow: it is reloading and cannot hurt you. Solid: it is loaded. Flashing, with a beep that climbs: it has you lined up, and when the beep reaches the top it fires.
It fires at where you are, not at where you will be. Drive across its line and it misses. Sit still, or drive straight at it, and it does not. So keep moving while its gun is loaded, and turn in the moment it goes hollow.
Blocks and pyramids stop shells โ yours and its. Every five tanks you knock out, the next ones are quicker. Now and then a green saucer drifts across: it cannot hurt you and it is worth 5,000, but going after it means turning your back on the tank.
The go is over when your three tanks are gone.
Iron Horizon is a clone of Battlezone, the classic arcade game from 1980.
